Flippin' Merch

Sometimes people want a tangible reminder of the things they love -- like MATH!

Some pieces are practical. Some a playful.

Some are just a small signal (for yourself or others) that you like thinking.

This is a small, evolving collection of math-inspired objects, made to be used, gifted, and enjoyed.

THE FLIPPIN' COLLECTIVE

Where math shows up, beautifully.

Math is "the language of the cosmos". Its order and predictability have been on thinker's minds since the beginning.

Artists see it. Neurodivergent people often see it first. It shows up in the patterns, rhythms, structures, repetitions. In music. In art. In the way we organize space, color, movement and ideas. It isn't just something we learn. It's something we notice.

My first love was music. While I rarely make visual arts, I'm a deep appreciator of works that speak to my favorite hyperfixations: art, music, math, . . . ethics.

This is an open space for artists and thinkers who see math the same way -- not as worksheets, but as structure, rhythm, and meaning.

"Math through our eyes", if you will.

THE FLIPPIN' COLLECTION

Patterns are fun to observe. And sometimes, those patterns want to live on your desk.

The Mandelbrot:
Paints a beautiful "map of the eternal cosmos".

The Sierpinsky:

Simplicity evolves into complexity.

The Barnsley:

by modifying Mandelbrot's equations...Paisley!

Math has a way of showing up in art.

When it does, we'd love to see it here!

I'm always open to submissions.

Each season, I'll select a number of the work to feature in the season's Flippin' Showcase, and a small number of features may be chosen to join the Flippin' Collection.

Not every submission becomes a product -- but every submission is seen and appreciated.

If your work is selected, it may be featured in a limited seasonal run, and you'll receive a custom piece showcasing your art as a thank you.

Not an assignment... no pressure.

Just an inquiring mind that wants to know:

Where does math show up in your work?

And now? An invitation.

Come one, come all! Let's make mathy art.

If you'd like to contribute art for consideration, click the link below to share.
(Or, in the words of math teachers everywhere, "Show your work!")
